IS_MIRRI21

Implementation and Sustainability of Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure for the 21st Century (IS_MIRRI21) is a three-year H2020 project that supports the implementation of Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure (MIRRI). MIRRI (https://www.mirri.org/) is a pan-European research infrastructure made up of 50+ member organisations including academic institutions, microbial Biological Resource Centres (mBRCs), Culture Collections (CCs) and experts from 11 European countries.

MIRRI has a special focus on the domains of Health & Food, Agro-Food, and Environment & Energy and intends to meet the demand for resources, data, research facilities and expertise in these domains squarely.

Objective:

These two events have been set up with the aim of presenting opportunities to bring innovation actors in Life Sciences and biotechnology to the same table. In synergy with RI-VIS, a Horizon 2020 funded project designed to increase the visibility of European research infrastructures (RIs) to new communities in Europe and beyond, IS_MIRRI21 partners and innovation actors from Research and Development (R&D) frameworks in Europe will present funding opportunities for joint collaboration in the above mentioned domains and how to become a member of MIRRI’s network.

The programme:

EVENT 1 | Webinar “MIRRI Membership: Boosting research and innovation in Health, Agro-food, Environment and Energy”

Date and platform – 15 June 2021, 14:00-15:15 CEST | ZOOM

Aims:
The webinar aims to bring the added-value of MIRRI to light and encourage international cooperation among Research Infrastructures (RIs) in Europe and Latin America. The session will also take the opportunity to briefly present funding sources, i.e., Horizon Europe, that are available to facilitate cross-continental collaboration.

Target audience:
The webinar is open to all participants that harbour interest in learning more about European RIs, in particular, MIRRI as a pan-European RI. The main beneficiaries of the webinar are foreseen to be representatives from countries/governments or intergovernmental organisations addressing Research and Development, as well as representatives from microbial Biological Resource Centres (mBRCs), Culture Collections (CCs), universities or research institutions potentially interested in joining MIRRI as members.
